Gudam-bong ('bong' means peak) takes its name from its shape which resembles
a figure swimming through the water. The mountainside resembles the panel of a folding screen sent from
Heaven. When autumn comes Gudam-bong and nearby
Oksun-bong, the autumn leaves that reach to the summit
make the scenery very beautiful. About 21 kilometers southwest from
Danyang is the Janghoe ferry crossing. Visitors taking
an excursion boat from here can see several of the Eight
Scenic Wonders of Danyang, including Oksun-bong
and Gudam-bong, as well as one of the second set of beauty spots,
