Sangseon-am Sangseon-am ( means rock) is one of three hermitages in the area. The other two are Haseon-am and Jungseon-am. Sangseon-am was named by Kwon Sang-ha, who is said to have built a small thatched pavilion on this spot. Here he lived a pleasant and unambitious life writing verses. One of his more memorable verses follows: "a crane enjoying itself with a mountain wizard disappeared, and immaculate spirit like a crane comes and stays at Sangseon-am."

The area containing the three hermitages includes nine valleys surrounded by a grand wall made from many different kinds of rocks. The area has no especially tall or broad boulders. Instead, the many small rocks huddled together seem like friends caring for their neighbors. Crystal clear water bubbles smoothly between the rocks on its way through the valleys, eventually turning into a waterfall. The waterfall sounds like thunder and the spray gets tourists' clothes wet.
