The National Theater of Korea is situated halfway up Namsan. Traveling from the Dongguk University subway
station towards Namsan, one will find the Jangchung Gymnasium and the Shilla Hotel on the left, and
Jangchungngdan Park and tennis courts on the right. Continue further to the National Theater, across the
road from the Tower Hotel. The road to the entranceway for the National Theater also continues on to
the top of Namsan. The National Theater often has outdoor art exhibitions.

Opened in 1973, the National Theater complex has a main stage, two smaller stages, and an outdoor performing
area. During
performances, a playroom for young children is available. Patrons can enjoy viewing displays associated
with traditional performances, as well as sample traditional foods at the theater's 'JeeHwa-ja' restaurant.
As well as being Korea's top playhouse, the National Theater hosts the National Ballet, National Opera, and
the National Choir.
