Yungong-dan (Altar)
Yungong-dan is an altar dedicated to the memory of the military commander Yun Heung-sin and others who died in April 1592 defending Tadae fortress against Japanese aggressors. The altar (designated Pusan Monument #9) was erected in 1765, by Yi Hae-mun (the Tadae military commander at that time) at the spot where Yun Heung-sin died. In addition to Yun, the altar enshrines his brother Yun Heung-che and a number of unknown soldiers and citizens killed during the battle. A memorial service is held here every year on the anniversary of their death, the 15th day of the 4th lunar month. Originally located on the grounds of the Tadae Primary School, it was moved here in 1970.
