This thin strip of sand has many hotels and restaurants lining the main road to
Annam Park. Although popular among locals,
the area does not have a lot of personality or striking scenery, especially near the beach
itself. However, the nearby cliffs over better views and cater to the many young couples
who come to the area for sunset dates. Nearby is Songnim Park, a newly
built park that is also popular among young couples.![]()
The night scene of Songdo is spectacular and enchanting with small- and large-sized freight and commercial ships anchored in the port. At dusk, sitting on the beach, one can lose track of time while enjoying the colorful night lights from Nampo-dong and Ch'agalchi Fish Market reflecting off the water and the salty sea breeze. The ships, sea gulls, raw fish restaurants, and serenity of the road to Amnam Park make a magnificent spectacle. Climbing down the stairs towards Songdo brings the visitor to 'Cloud Bridge,' a swaying bridge to Turtle Island. Adults pay 400 won, 200 won for children. The area near park is famous for relics of the Neolithic period, including the teeth of comb patterned bowls, sea shell mounds, and rocks with fantastic shape.
