The set for 'Taejo Wanggeon' attracts many visitors as it is recorded as the biggest outdoor set in Korean
drama history. In terms of its size, it covers over 20,000 pyeong (1 pyeong= 3.3 sq. meters). With 48
traditional Korean tile house complex to show the high class people's residential place, and 47 traditional
thatched roof houses to revive the look of the average people's living places, the life of the Goryeo
Dynasty (918 - 1392) has been revived in Mungyeong.

The Goryeo palace is as tall as a 7-story building and is based on historical investigation of the actual Goryeo
Dynasty's palace site, Manwoldae. Over 350,000 traditional Korean tiles were used in the construction of
the buildings, and over 400 million won was spent to build the entire set. To enhance the reality, the builders
used construction materials from that period (such as tiles, soil, wood, and stones). The Mungyeong set is
surrounded by Worak-san National Park and Juheul-san.
