Driving along highway #3 from Jeomchon towards Mungyeong, visitors can see the closed mine which formed one part
of the economic prosperity of Mungyeong during the 1970s. About 3 kilometers past the S-shape of lake is a
precipitious wall of stratified rocks, mysterious looking rocks, and 3 bridges. This scenery creates a very
strange harmony between natural and artificial beauties.
In 1933, Daegu Newspaper selected this area as the most beautiful place in North Gyeong Province. The forest, mysterious looking rocks, and Joryeong-cheon lake, provide a beautiful resort area. The lights exuding from campers' tents make
a picturesque scene with the moon reflection off the lake.
