dyang062 (Dodam Sambong is one of the Danyang Palgyeong- the 8 Wonders of Danyang.) An island in the Namhan River, it has three peaks named Changgun-bong, Cheop-bong, and Cheo-bong. They also represent the three figures of a love triad (husband, concubine, and wife, respectively). The story states that the husband could not get a son by his wife, so he took on a concubine. The wife was so upset that she turned away from her husband and refused to speak to him. Locals feel that the orientation of the three peaks represent this relationship.

The middle peak is the highest one (about 6 meters in height), and its posture looks like a solider. Nam-bong (south peak), called 'Daughter peak' or 'Concubine peak' stands amiably under the roof. Buk-bong (north peak), called 'Son peak' or 'Wife peak' seems to be turning away its face as if ashamed. Jung Dojeon, a famous prime minister who had assisted the founding of the ancient Joseon Dynasty is said to have enjoyed the scenery while living in seclusion here. He named his second name Sambong (meaning "three peaks").
