Muju and Yangsan are divided in 'Hak mountain' which is 20km to the west from Yeongdong eup of Yeongdong gun at the southernmost in Chungbuk area. If you go 8km from that mountain toward Yangsan, you can see pine trees and astrange rock/valley. That is 'Songho ri', which is a grand panorama with Geum river (main river in Chungcheong do).
Since Songho National Resort was built in 1998 and 'CheonTae Mountain Development Project' was made recently, it is expected to be a famous sightseeing site. 'Yangsan eight famous spots' includes 8 spots from Songho ri to Yangsan myeon of Yeongdong gun. 'Songho National Resort' is located at the upper stream of Geum river against Gangseon dae, Yongam and Yeoeui pavilion and is the center of 'Yangsan 8 famous spots'. 'Songho ri' is a famous place located at the upper stream of Geum river when passing Yangsan from south to north. Also it is background of 'Yangsan song' that is regarded as important Silla song in Korean literature. The natural cuvirenment is very beautiful here. Additionally, we can feel its historical inportance (the joys and sorrows of General Heumun Kim in Silla or origin of 'Yangsan song'). Due to various sports facilities in Songho resort, the whole family can it enjoy together. Close to the resort, there is 'Jarabyeol amusement park' on the opposite side of Yang river. With pine tree, and gravel and sand in riverside, it is silent (but swimming and fishing are not allowed). 
'Yeongguk temple' as the 1st spot is located at the east of Cheontae mountain and is the best place among 8 spots. According to the legend, this temple was built under King Munmu in Silla. At the end of ancient Korea, King Gongmin prayed for national safety and overcame national war. Then the temple's name was changed to 'Yeongguk temple'. In the temple, there is a ginkgo tree (No. 233 Natural Monument) over 18m in height and over 600 years old.
'Gangseondae' (the 2nd spot) is small pavilion located on the riverside of Hwanggol, Bonggok ri in the opposite of Songho resort. According to a legend, a wizard went down to play here. That is why it was called 'Gangseondae'. Also fairies bathed here. The view from here is very fantastic. There is a strange valley and pine tree at Geum river in front of Bonggok ri village. With these, the view of the river and wide plain make people happy. Annul Lee and Jae Im made great poems about its beauty. 'Bibongdae' (the 3rd spot) is the peak to the west of myeon office in Yangsan. This was the border between Silla and Baekjae and there is an old castle site. 'Bonghwangdae' (the 4th spot) is a rock in the north of the southwestern river of 'Bonghwa mountain'. There is a pavilion socalled 'Bonghwajeong'. 'Hambyeok pavilion' (the 5th spot) is a pavilion on the rock in eastern river of Bonghwadae. Ancient scholars thought poetic idea here. 'Yeoeui pavilion' (the 6th spot) is a private school on the opposite of Jarabyeol amusement park. 'Yongam' (the 7th spot) is big rock in 'Yang river' in front of Songho resort. According to a legend, a dragon fell in love with fairy who was bathing and didn't ascend to heaven. 'Yongam' is a pavilion in the forest of Songho resort. Eungjong Pak returned to her hometown after quitting his job and built a private school (Manchuidang). He taught politeness and old books etc. Due to this activity, people in village became polite and respectful to others. Their descendants considered their ancestors' thought and wanted to continue them. So they built a pavilion in pine trees of Songho ri (autumn of 1935). Its green shades and fragrant plants are famous for its sight and taste. Using info. Course 1 (4.6km, 3hours and 20min.)
