Daegwallyong Sheep Farm

Daegwallyeong Sheep (Yangtte) Farm is Korea's only sheep farm, located at 14-104, Hoenggye-3 ri, Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon Province. It is situated at the top of Daegwallyeong at an elevation of 850~900 meters. The scenery of sheep on the large meadow is being called Korea's Alps.

The farm started in 1988 under the name Pungjeong Farm, but changed its name in 2000 to Daegwallyeong Sheep (Yangtte) Farm. The farm does not charge an entrance fee due to regulations, so visitors are allowed to enter the farm with the purchase of sheep food (hay) for 1 animal. At the farm, the visitors can observe friendly sheep closely and experience feeding them. From March to April each year, visitors can watch the sheep getting sheared.


It takes about 40 minutes to look around the farm through the open walkway of about 1.2 km. The place is popular as nature experiencing place and dating course with the grand Taebaek-san mountain range and about 30 different wild flowers colonies blooming according to the season.


Hours: 9:00 ~ 17:00 (May~August: until 18:00)

Instead of an entrance fee, sheep food (hay):
  • Adult: 3,000 won
  • Child and youth (6 years old ~high school): 2,500 won
  • Baby (up to 5 years old): Free (Except, 10 and more group)

  • Back of the former Yeongdong Highway Daegwallyeong rest area
  • Take a taxi to the farm's parking lot from Hwanggye Bus Terminal.
