(Rating: 1) Date: June 27, 2005 Absolutely nothing original to buy. Nothing like any Seoul shopping area. Poor quality goods. bc_1976- (Rating: 5) Date: July 3, 2000 Texas Street has traditionally been the favorite stomping ground for primarily American Servicemen but European Merchant Marines as well. Recently, however, the influx of Russian Merchant Marines--due to changes in the politcal climate of the times--has resulted in a shopping and nightlife area that would now more aptly be called "Little Kiev." Although many of the neon signs are no longer in English, the shopowners still pretty much sell the same sort of merchandise that has been popular for decades--and at bargain prices compared to other shopping areas around town. Leather jackets, sports clothing and tennis shoes, thick blankets, brass castings, and carved wooden items dominate the shops of Texas Street. Shopping aside, it is the nightlife of Texas Street that has long been the main attraction to foreigners visiting the area. With a few restaurants, numerous bars, and several night clubs with names like Club Hollywood, visitors are likely to have an enjoyable time sitting with the local hostesses socializing, drinking, and dancing the night away to the tune of the latest foreign hit songs.
