The Westin Chosun Seoul was the first Western-style hotel to open its doors in Sogong-dong, in the heart of Seoul,
in 1914. At the time of its establishment, the Westin Chosun played an important role of a reception hall,
attracting state guests, high-ranking officials, and foreigners. As the only luxurious building during that era,
the Westin Chosun was the center of Korea's political, economical, and cultural activities. The Chosun also
introduced Western culture to Korea with the country's first elevator, bowl of ice cream, buffet-style restaurant,
dance party, and Western-style wedding. As the Chosun revolutionized the country in the past, currently, the
Westin Chosun continues to lead the hotel industry, and offers the best in modern facilities by providing a PC,
cellular phone, and PDA in each guest room.
