Gangnam-gu has grown quickly during the past few years. Much of the area has modernized much more quickly than areas north of the Han River. Despite being a major center for growth, the area still contains a number of parks where residents can go to relax and escape from their stress. It also has many destinations favored by young couples. The Tehran-ro area, home to Korea's "Silicon Alley," has some of the highest rents in the world, if office space can even be found! Nearby housing costs are also among the most expensive in Seoul.
