Yongsan-gu has one of the highest concentrations of expatriates in Korea. Home to the U.S. Army's Yongsan Garrison, many military members, Department of Defense (DoD) civilians, other civilian contractors, and their families live nearby. It'aewon-dong remains Korea's most popular shopping and night life districts for foreigners and expatriates. Many embassies are also located in Hannam-dong and Seobinggo-dong.
